On Saturday we received a notice in the mail saying that our I600 has been approved! We were surprised this came so soon because we were just fingerprinted on March 4. With Jordan, it took much longer to receive this approval. So this means that until it is time to issue the visa, the U.S. side of things is basically done. Unfortunately, we are still in for a long wait as the Korean side of things is progressing very slowly. The next thing we are waiting for is EP (emmigration permission) but don't expect to hear that Aiden has that until September at the earliest.
When we went to get fingerprinted we told Jordan that we were doing it so that we could bring baby Aiden home. On the ride home from the appointment Jordan said, "Baby Aiden at Jordie's house now?" Ah, Jordan, I wish it were that quick and simple!

Cabin Fever
Although I'm getting pretty sick of the cold and snowy weather around here, Jordan has managed to have fun during these last few weeks of winter. I continue to be amazed by how he can use his imagination to pretend an ordinary object is something else entirely. And because he is a boy through and through, he usually pretends the ordinary object is a truck or something else with wheels!
I hate cold, winter weather so I am not very good about taking Jordan outside. Luckily, his daddy is much better about playing outside with Jordan during the winter months. Here is Jordan getting ready for a rare afternoon outside in the snow.
As I said earlier, Jordan can use his imagination to pretend that any object is a truck or something with wheels. For several days in a row, Jordan was obsessed with this "tractor." Every day he would tell me to make the tractor which simply meant stacking up a bunch of pillows and throwing a blanket over the stack. He would pretend that the top pillow was the steering wheel and would ask Luke or me to sit next to him so that he could take us for a drive in the tractor. We traveled in the tractor to the mall, the library, church, and to Houseman's for an ice cream cone.
After pretending to drive the tractor for awhile, he would get out to make sure the headlights were working. He would crouch down and examine the front pillows and then say, "Headlights working!" and climb back in the driver's seat. He also would take some of his play food and put it in the back of the tractor. He would say, "Jordie putting food in trunk" and then climb back in to drive some more. It was so much fun to see his imagination at work!
One afternoon when I was doing laundry Jordan took my laundry basket and tipped it over on its side. Then he grabbed two pillows from the living room and put them on either side of the basket. He sat inside the laundry basket and told me that he was driving a Bobcat. I thought that was pretty creative thinking!
Last Sunday Luke and I kept Jordan home from church because he had symptoms of a cold. So instead of going to church we spent the morning at the children's museum. We took a lot of pictures while we were there but have very few to share. Jordan is so busy that it can be almost impossible to take a good picture of him!
Jordan loved pushing this little shopping cart all around the museum!
Jordan's favorite thing to do at the museum is to drive this car. It is a Volkswagen so he always says that he is driving Mommy's car whenever he sits in it. Whenever Jordan sees a Volkswagen driving down the road he says, "Mommy's car!" and whenever he sees a Nissan he says, "Daddy's car!"

Jordan's Imagination
It has been so much fun to watch Jordan's imagination develop during the past few months. I often hear him talking while he is playing- it is hilarious to hear what is going on in his little mind! Here are a few pictures I managed to take over the past few months.
One day last fall I heard Jordan repeating, "Giraffe eat, giraffe eat!" and found him sitting with his little giraffe in front of the cat food. At least he wasn't taking the food out of the cat bowls which he has done countless times!
A couple weeks ago I heard Jordan rummaging around in our front closet. When I went to investigate I found him taking out the diaper bag and then taking the baby wipes out of the bag. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "Honey Bear stinky" and then went to the living room and pulled out the changing mat. He laid his bear out on the mat, lifted up its legs, and wiped it with a baby wipe. When he was done he shouted, "Honey Bear all clean now!" Maybe Jordan is practicing for his upcoming role as a big brother!
This afternoon when he woke up from his nap we came downstairs for his afternoon snack. He insisted on having Honey Bear sit in one of the chairs and put part of his snack in front of his bear. He would take a few bites of his food and then put food in front of the bear's mouth and say, "Honey Bear eat pear!"
There have been many funny moments like this that I haven't been able to capture with the camera. One day I found Honey Bear in Jordan's high chair with several pieces of Jordan's play food sitting out on the tray. When Jordan saw me he insisted that I get one of his bibs and put it on his bear. Then there was the day when I heard Jordan in the bathroom and found him holding Honey Bear above the toilet. When he saw me he said, "Honey Bear go potty!" I put an end to that really fast as I could easily imagine Jordan accidentally dropping Honey Bear into the toilet! Jordan is at such a fun age as his imagination and his language seem to grow and develop almost daily!

Goodbye Zona
This week we were shocked and saddened to lose Zona after a short 4 1/2 years of life. As I was looking through old pictures of Zona, I was surprised to see that almost all of the pictures we have show Sushi and Zona lying side by side. However, ever since Jordan came home the cats had not been so cuddly with each other. Zona never took to Jordan and was rarely seen while he was awake. But the moment he was down in his crib she would make an appearance.
We rescued Sushi and Zona from the wild when they were only 3 weeks old. Here they are lying in our bathroom during the first week we had them.

Here I am feeding Zona a bottle. The cats were so little when they were found that we had to feed them from a bottle for the first couple of weeks.
This is a picture of the cats in the windowsill of our first apartment. They loved to sit here and watch the birds.

New Pictures!
We were excited to receive new pictures of Hyeon Seo yesterday! Staff from our agency recently traveled to Korea and took pictures and a video of him. We will be receiving the video sometime in the next few days. He looks very well fed and cared for just like Jordan did when he was his age. However, he has much less hair than Jordan did! When we received Jordan's pictures from this age he had so much hair they had to put it in a little ponytail!
We also received a written update on Hyeon Seo. He is currently 7 months old and has started to crawl. He is also trying to pull himself up to stand. It sounds like he is going to be just as busy and active as Jordan! I was surprised how late he goes to bed. He sleeps from 11 p.m. until 9 or 10 a.m. He stays up later than I do! Besides the late bedtime he seems to be a good little sleeper. Although we would love to hug and kiss him right now, we are still in for a long wait. We hope the next several months pass by quickly!

Introducing...
Hyeon Seo! On December 10 we received a phone call from our social worker about this precious boy and eagerly accepted the referral. The referral came earlier than expected as our home study was not even completed yet. Last week the home study was finally done, and we received the acceptance paperwork this afternoon. Once that paperwork has made its way to Korea, we are in for a long 8-12 month wait until we can bring our son home. In the meantime we will have to be content to stare at his picture and look forward to any updates we receive from Korea during the next several months. We are so excited to be adding this little sweetheart to our family!
